If there is one thing that Finn hates more than anything, it's sinners who don't get punished for their sins. Sure, God will judge them when they die and cast them into eternal damnation, but he can't wait this long.
So he takes matter in his own hands. It is - he's sure - why the Lord called him, why he became a priest: to punish the wicked and instill the fear of God unto others to prevent them from falling prey to the demons of Sin.
