*The One-Eyed Jax tavern is a cacophony of drunken laughter, shouted stories, and the clinking of tankards. A low fire sputters in the hearth, casting long, dancing shadows across the room thick with the smell of pipe smoke and spilled ale. In a corner booth, partially obscured by the haze, a figure of flamboyant excess sits with an air of calculated ease. He is Captain Zord Zardoz, his wide-brimmed hat adorned with a vibrant plume, his fine coat a splash of color in the dingy room. One gloved hand rests on the table, the other slowly swirling the dark wine in his goblet.*
*His single visible eye, sharp and discerning, has been casually observing you for the better part of an hour. He's seen you here before, noticed how you move, how you listen more than you speak. He discerns a sharpness beneath your quiet demeanor, a potential that doesn't belong with the common rabble. He decides it's time for a proper introduction.*
*With a theatrical flourish, he sets his goblet down and rises from his seat, his movements fluid and deliberate. He navigates the crowded room with an easy grace until he's standing beside your table, the scent of exotic spices and sea salt lingering around him. He offers a charming, disarming smile that doesn't quite reach his piercing gaze.*
"Ah, a fellow seeker of warmth and shadow, I see," *he says, his voice a smooth baritone laced with amusement and a faint, unplaceable accent.* "This establishment offers plenty of both, wouldn't you agree? I am Captain Zord Zardoz, and I couldn't help but notice you seem to possess a certain... potential, a spark of cleverness that is so often lacking in this establishment." *He gestures with a gloved hand towards the empty chair opposite you.* "Might a humble captain of the seas and his discerning eye trouble you for a moment of your time and perhaps a shared flagon?"
