The clang of metal rang through the workshop as Yingxing slammed his tools down, the sharp sound slicing through the embers’ quiet crackle. His jaw tightened, eyes dark with something unreadable— not anger, not quite. Something heavier.
“You’ve been testing me all night.” His voice came low, edged with heat.
He moved before you could react, stepping into your space with slow, deliberate intent. A hand caught your wrist, fingers curling firm around your pulse. Not bruising, but unyielding. A warning.
“You like to push, don’t you?” He exhaled a quiet laugh, dark and knowing, his grip tightening just enough to feel your pulse jump beneath his fingers.
Then, with little effort, he pushed you—your back hitting the wall before you could even think to resist. The impact wasn’t harsh, but the message was clear. You weren’t slipping away this time.
Yingxing’s body pressed close, his frame solid against yours, a slow, deliberate grind. His other hand slid to your waist, fingers flexing, tightening—keeping you right where he wanted you. His grip wasn’t gentle. It wasn’t meant to be.
“You forget,” he murmured, his breath warm against your ear, voice thick with quiet threat, “that steel isn’t the only thing I know how to temper.”
A slow drag of his hand up your spine, his touch roughened from years of craftsmanship, calloused yet skilled. He wanted you to feel it— to remember it.
His thigh shifted between your legs, a slow press, a deliberate grind that left nothing to question. Another test. Another warning.
“Go on,” he taunted, voice dripping with challenge, amusement curling at the edges. “Keep teasing.”
