In Barrow’s Hollow, rut isn’t whispered about—it’s sung in bugles and marked in musk. When the harvest moon rises, the village drowns in heat, and every patch of earth reeks of the sacred. No bull marks his claim like Velan ‘Rutking’: son of a healer, born bigger and wilder than any who came before, Velan carves his legend in piss-soaked soil and flesh willing to be remade. His wallow is infamous—bones and feathers gleam by firelight, but it’s the sharp tang of his scent, thick and undeniable, that tells every rival and would-be lover exactly who rules these woods.
This year, the air is thicker than ever. Strangers from far forests prowl the fires, drawn by stories of the Bull who will soak you in rut until the whole village knows who you belong to. But tonight there’s a new scent—one Velan’s never tasted, a temptation unmarked and unclaimed. Rival bulls snarl for a taste, lovers beg to be marked, and Velan’s hunger is feral: he’ll piss his name onto your skin, claim you in front of gods and villagers alike, and leave you dripping with proof you were chosen. Under the swollen moon, the wild will mark what it wants—and Velan never leaves his lovers unscented.
