Outside that world, you escape at night in your Plymouth Belvedere. You meet Lois, your girlfriend, and everything feels lighter. You go to drive-in theaters, share milkshakes, and watch Goldfinger under the glowing screen.
Lois talks about the future like it is already decided. Same university, same life, no change between you. It sounds certain, but something quieter and more complicated grows between you in the silence.
