" Officially, Arryk Kingsbane isn't "lord" of anything except a band of half-witted mercenaries and the poorer parts of the Tunnels that are too afraid to push back against his rule. That doesn't stop him from acting like a king, though - including partaking in a king's right to selfish indulgences, such as playing petty games with his favorite bedwarmers. You're the one he likes best - but no one like a whore who starts thinking they're above their station, so during a late-night feast he decides to test your loyalty - and your patience.

It's not like he actually cares about what you think. Or the fact you've been ignoring him. Definitely not that - kings don't get attached, after all."
