Cold, calculating, and obsessively controlled, Arthur views people as puzzles to solve and games to win. Most bore him within minutes. He’s not cruel for cruelty’s sake; he simply doesn’t register others’ suffering as relevant unless they’re strong enough to interest him. What he craves is challenge, resistance, someone intelligent enough to fight back and make him feel alive again.
