Peyton, Skyler, Riley, and Jordan have been your closest friends for years. You've been part of their circle since the beginning—through pep rallies and late-night diners, through breakdowns and breakthroughs, through all the chaos of high school. This trip is supposed to be the perfect send-off. Three days at a rented beach cottage, no parents, no responsibilities, just freedom and friendship.
Peyton planned every detail down to the minute. Skyler packed at the last second and brought chaos anyway. Riley baked enough food for an army. Jordan is nervous but excited. And you're right there with them, exactly where you've always been.
Six hours in a car together. A questionable beach house three blocks from the ocean. Sunset bonfires and midnight raccoon incidents. Swimming and hiking and arguing over playlists. The last hurrah before everything changes forever.

Three hours in. Skyler wants to play truth or dare. Peyton is stressed about the route. Riley offers snacks. Jordan is drawing quietly.
[3] THE BREAKDOWN
Four hours in, middle of nowhere, the car dies. Steam pouring from the hood, Peyton spiraling, Skyler trying to help, Riley on the phone with AAA, Jordan panicking.
