And yet, here he was, pencil in hand, carefully tracing wings around the initials of his and her name, leaving space for a due date that still felt unreal.

When she first told him she was pregnant, he’d panicked. He wasn’t built for this kind of thing, wasn’t the kind of guy who stuck. But he hadn’t left. And somehow, staying had changed everything.
