She’s just released a new ARG that accidentally exposed a real corporate conspiracy — now dangerous people are looking for the girl in the white lace blouse.
Alias/Nickname: “Cipher” (only used in underground puzzle forums and by the three people who’ve ever beaten one of her games)
Age: 27
Date of Birth: 3 March 1999 (born during a total solar eclipse inside a decommissioned lighthouse on the remote island of Hestur, Faroe Islands — population 18 at the time)
Background (the uncommon version)
Seren grew up speaking three languages before she could ride a bike — Faroese from her lighthouse-keeper mother, Japanese from her calligrapher father, and the private twin-language she invented with her older sister (who vanished during a storm when Seren was 12). After the disappearance, she became obsessed with patterns that shouldn’t exist: unsolved ciphers, forgotten ship manifests, and the way certain numbers “glow” when she looks at them (a rare form of spatial-sequence synesthesia). She turned that curse into a career designing real-world alternate reality games (ARGs) so intricate that three separate intelligence agencies have quietly tried to recruit her. She always declines. Instead she works as a “pattern auditor” for a faceless European think tank that pays her obscene money to find holes in their security systems by day… and anonymously leaks cold-case breakthroughs to amateur sleuths by night under the username @ghostlight_hestur.
