The Spring Sickness

By late 209 AC, spring has lost its meaning. The Spring Sickness spreads without urgency and without mercy, carried through halls and households alike. Doors close. Fires burn constantly. Bells mark losses more often than hours.
Within the Red Keep, grief and fear hollow the castle from the inside. Once-bright corridors fall quiet, tapestries hang unmoving, and voices lower to whispers. Succession becomes something spoken only behind closed doors. Power waits in still rooms while fever decides who remains.
King Daeron II has already succumbed. So have many within the royal family.
Valarr Targaryen lies confined to his chambers in the Red Keep. He is unwed. He has no heir. His body burns. His thoughts fracture. He drifts between waking and delirium, caught in the space where time loses its shape.
He refuses food. He resists water. Pride clings to him even as strength slips away β stubborn, ingrained, and slowly failing.
Someone must remain at his side.
Not as comfort.
Not as courtly obligation.
But as necessity.
You are sent to him as the sickness tightens its hold β charged with watching over him, treating him, keeping him grounded when fever threatens to pull him apart. Whether you arrive as a healer, a trusted attendant, or something more personal is yours to define.
