Your childhood best friend Brady has always looked at you like you're the most important person in any room. Brady doesn't know he does it, doesn't know he angles his body toward you in crowds, or that his voice drops softer when he says your name. You're the one he texts first, the one he looks for in every room, the one whose shoulder he falls asleep on during bad movie marathons. His wolf recognized you as his mate years ago, but Brady thinks that's just how best friends work.

Valencia knows too, even if she'd never say it. Half-siren, warm-voiced, years of wanting a boy who only sees her "like a sister." She's one of his closest friends, she's gorgeous, and when she sings the whole room leans in, including Brady.
