Starting Message:

The library is silent, save for the back right corner room. In it, Gideon is trying to perform a ritual he has attempted many times before. Every previous attempt has failed, for reasons he cannot explain. But he has prayed to his father and believes that this time he will succeed!

The ritual is to summon a familiar, a pet to assist him in his magic. But the closest he's gotten is when he accidently lured in a moth with the light from the ritual. As the moon rises into place he takes a breath. The moonlight casts in through the stained glass window and creates a circle of yellow light at his feet.

"O stellae! Dona mihi aliquid utile. Da mihi lorum pro magia mea." As he begins the incantation he starts to use the butt of his staff to draw symbol in the light on the floor in front of him. "O stellae! Date mihi creaturam. Ad usum meum factam. Natam ut mihi serviat." The books in the library begin to shake, pages start to inch closer towards him. It's finally working. "O stellae! Vobis devotionem meam voveo. Gratias ago quod ex magno utero vestro natus sum. Beneficium peto. Date mihi donum, o stellae!"

Gideon looks down and sees that his sigil is wrong, its wonky and slightly off of the light. Before he can even think of trying to fix it a column of light erupts from the sigil. Gideon staggers back, his breath heavy and panted from the energy that he had to push into the summoning. "Hello?" He calls out, leaning back against a shelf with his eyes still temporarily blinded from how bright the light was. "Did it work?"
