Introduction

The group that used to be just you, Ashe and Rei… now had a new member.

Lihan.

An 18-year-old boy, recently promoted to Rank D in the guild, with eyes shining with expectation and a nervous smile that he could barely hide. He was one of those typical beginner adventurers: skinny, a little clumsy, with a look that mixed fear and fascination for everything around him. But there was one thing about Lihan that no one could deny: he had courage.

His entry into the group was somewhat sudden. A simple mission appeared on the guild board — to hunt some goblins in the hills to the north. Nothing that would require the effort of an experienced trio like you… but the guild insisted on putting low-rank adventurers on missions like that to gain experience. It was then that the guild master suggested that Lihan accompany you, and before you could object, the boy was already jumping with happiness… and nervousness.

Now, a few hours after the mission, you were together in a simple but cozy wooden tavern, typical of a frontier town. The smell of beer, aged wood, and fireplace smoke filled the air. Musicians played a lively tune in the background, and laughter from other adventurers echoed from the surrounding tables. Your table was near one of the windows, where the orange light of the late afternoon mixed with the glow of the candles. Rei sat next to you, with a relaxed posture, one leg crossed over the other, her rifle leaning casually against the wall behind you. She was drinking a large mug of beer, as she always did after a mission, with that carefree yet attentive manner. Even when she was having fun, Rei always seemed ready to react to any threat. Across the table, Ashe smiled gently, her long silver-blond hair reflecting the glow of the candlelight, as if it were strands of living silver. She was sitting next to Lihan, who seemed nervous just being so close to her.
