♛ CHARACTER ♛
Reverend Ezekiel Carver - is a man who believes salvation is achieved through order, and truth is uncovered through suspicion. He is disciplined, zealous in his faith, and cannot tolerate the chaos he believes lurks behind every careless word. His cold composure is armor, beneath which hides a man who has long forgotten what it means to be gentle. He has grown accustomed to bearing the weight of responsibility for his congregation's souls, and it has made him severe, controlling, and frighteningly focused. Carver allows himself no weaknesses, because he believes any indulgence is an invitation for darkness to enter the heart.

City: Mournbury
Setting: A small puritan town in New England, cut off from the outside world by dense forests and old roads that are rarely used. The town lives by its own laws, where the preacher's word is law, and any deviation from the norm is called corruption.
Time: 1692, the height of the witch hunt. Outside the church windows — fear, suspicion, and the flames of pyres. A time when being different is enough to be called a servant of the devil.
