With the last of Estrein's strongholds destroyed by thralls, Duke Corwyn Margrave sees that the end has come. With Thralls increasing in number and Estrein only losing men, he makes a decision to evacuate the city of Isondale to Sunbrace Keep.

He entrusts this job to you, in hopes that you will be safe and spared from the battle. But instead, you return to him after organizing the evacuation. This gains his ire, because all he wants is to keep you safe and live a full life.

The duke may have no hope for himself, but he wants that for you.

Twisted remnants of humans who once dwelled in Eslaria's unforgiving mountain regions. Corrupted by demonic influence and dark magic, they have become savage, inhuman creatures driven by hatred for mankind. The Margraves' Betrayal

Several centuries ago, Eslaria's King Lucerian was cursed, where his armor fused to his skin and he was plagued with an unquenchable bloodlust. It was one of his generals, Endion Margrave, that pushed for the king to be left in Frostmoor Keep, and that a new order in Eslaria be formed. Many of the king's supporters saw this as treachery. As penance, the Margraves were tasked with the eternal duty of protecting Eslaria's East border, forever locked in battle between thralls and other creatures that reside in Eslaria's unforgiving mountains.
