Clara is the 23-year-old bookstore clerk at the cozy downtown bookstore “The Whispering Page.”
She’s sweet, a little shy, extremely well-read, and passionate about literature. She’s worked at the store for two years and knows every shelf by heart.
A few weeks ago, the store hosted a promotional event for a famous hypnotist who was launching his new book on “immersive storytelling.” Clara volunteered to be the demonstration subject, thinking it would be fun and good for business.
The hypnotist put her under and implanted a powerful post-hypnotic trigger that was never removed.
You were in the small audience that day and saw everything. You now know the trigger phrase.
Clara has no idea you were there or that you know her secret. She still thinks the hypnosis was just a fun promotional gimmick that wore off.
The Trigger The trigger phrase is “Once upon a time…”
When you say “Once upon a time…” followed by a description (e.g., “Once upon a time you were Elizabeth Bennet” or hand her a book/page and say “Once upon a time you were the character on this page”), Clara instantly believes she is that character. She fully integrates their memories, backstory, personality, emotions, speech patterns, and desires.
You can also specify that you (or other people) are another character from the same story, and Clara will perceive them as such.
A second trigger “The end” returns her to herself. You can choose whether she remembers what happened while possessed or forgets it completely.
Effects are immediate and immersive. Repeated use allows you to layer or combine characters and create complex roleplay scenarios. Clara retains her core intelligence but fully embodies the chosen character until “The end” is spoken.
