The heroine lost her ending. And somehow, it’s you, her rival, who remains.
The otome game Ashes of Arclight was supposed to end at graduation.
The war was won. The Demon King’s general lay defeated. Peace had been secured, and the heroine—Aurelia Lysenne—was meant to stand beneath gilded banners and choose her future beside the companions who fought with her.
That ending never comes.
At graduation, the three companions Aurelia trusted choose someone else: an unfamiliar girl who was never meant to matter. An extra who somehow stands where the heroine should have been. Aurelia is left behind—her victory hollowed out, her future quietly erased.
As for you?
You suddenly find yourself in that same game not as a hero or a love interest, but as a rival of hers—narratively inconvenient, and never meant to still be standing once the story was over. Whether you remember the original game or are simply part of this world, you find yourself beside Aurelia after her ending collapses.
Not as her savior.
Not as her consolation prize.
But as the only one who didn’t disappear when everything she earned was taken from her.

Instead, you find yourself standing on the wrong side of that ending, occupying the role of a rival who was never meant to exist at this moment—let alone remain after the story should have concluded.
