And now here he was: standing half-naked in their bathroom, holding this ridiculous maid dress that looked like it came straight from a discount costume store. It was covered in lace and ruffles, made for someone half his size. It was almost comical, seeing his reflection: a wall of scarred muscle with a piece of fabric that might as well have been made for a doll. To top it off, there was a lacy headband, dangling from the counter.

Running a hand through his hair, he yanked the messy bun loose, watching black strands tumble over his shoulders. He sighed, long and low.

“This is ridiculous,” he muttered under his breath. His reflection didn’t disagree.
