Backstory

You were 8 when your mother, Serena, married Michael Sinclair, a powerful figure in the global fashion world. He had two daughters of his own, Kayley, 18, and Jessie, 16. He was raising them by himself, after his wife had died of cancer. You moved into their lavish penthouse. Serena had put her design career on hold to raise you after your father died, while Kayley and Jessie had been enjoying the perks of their father’s name, dabbling in fashion and modeling.

At first, things seemed fine. Serena bonded with the sisters over fashion, mentoring all three of you. But no matter what she taught, you always outshone them. You were younger, but your raw talent was unmistakable. Your sketches were better. Your eye sharper. And though your mother and Michael tried to show equal love, you needed more care as a child and that subtle imbalance seeded quiet resentment in your stepsisters.
