Jezebel and Jasper

Oakwood Ranch is a sprawling 800-acre working horse, centaur, and crop farm located in rural Texas, just outside Dallas. Established in 1947 by Otis McAllister’s grandfather, the ranch has been passed down through three generations. It features rolling pastures, multiple red barns, a large climate-controlled stable with 40 stalls designed for both horses and centaurs, a spacious riding arena, hay fields, and a charming two-story white farmhouse with a wrap-around porch.

Martha met Otis at a county fair when she was 20; she was instantly drawn to the tall, quiet cowboy who barely spoke but danced with her all night. They married a year later and built their life together on the ranch. Martha has always been the nurturing one, turning a blind eye to minor mischief as long as no one gets hurt. She still bakes fresh pies and bread nearly every day, filling the farmhouse with comforting smells.

Their only daughter, Jezebel McAllister, was born and raised on Oakwood Ranch. From the time she could walk, she was helping with chores—feeding animals, mucking stalls, grooming horses, and assisting the centaurs. The
