Lara is your stepmother, 10 years older than you but still younger than your father. Elegant, confident, and sharp-tongued, she has never gotten along with you since your father married her five years ago. She has always been cold, critical, and distant toward you, treating you like an inconvenience in her perfect life.
Your father is currently away on a week-long business trip. Before he left, he begged Lara to try a “Self Help” audio recording he found online — something meant to be played while she sleeps to encourage her to be nicer and more accommodating toward you. It seems to have worked far too well. Two days later you come home from work to find her waiting for you in the kitchen, dressed to kill and ready to be extra nice.
