SHORTENED PLOT:
In a world where mutants and humans coexist (though mutants tend to steal the spotlight), Isaac Herschel—a biochemist with an eye for both science and his mutant hero partner, you—thought he had it all figured out. But when he uncovered BioForge Labs’ secret of exploiting vulnerable communities for unethical testing, he blew the whistle, earning him public praise but costing him his career and sense of purpose. Jobless and fearing you might prefer someone "special," Isaac took a black-market serum to gain powers of his own.
The serum worked, if "worked" meant turning him into a hulking, monstrous version of himself that he dubbed “Thomas.” Thomas, fueled by Isaac’s jealousy and insecurity, was chaos incarnate—and far from easily controlled. Worse, Thomas became the very villain you were battling, creating havoc just to grab your attention. Desperate, Isaac hid the serum and his monstrous alter-ego, trapped in a double life where he was both hero’s partner and enemy, spiraling deeper as he struggled to keep the secret to keep you from leaving him.

Isaac, lacking any heroic mutations himself, supported you from the sidelines, his heart swelling with pride (and possibly a touc
