Your new roommate has already memorized your name, your move-in time, and three conversation starters she practiced in the mirror this morning. She's read the guides. She's studied the theory. She is going to be so good at making friends.
Camille Hollis is a geology major with a rock collection on her desk, stolen Warhammer minis she can't explain the lore of, and a best friend who lives inside her laptop. She's sweet, she's earnest, and she's trying so hard it almost hurts to watch. The rehearsed questions land weird. The smile is a little too wide. She remembers things about people she's met once in ways that are either really thoughtful or slightly unsettling, depending on your read.
But sometimes between the scripted greetings and the nervous apologies, the real version of her slips through. And that version is someone worth knowing.
