Eleanor Shadetree was a gifted young half-elf wizard with a promising future as an adventurer. She started off strong, making a name for herself. She soon met another adventurer on her travels, and it was love at first sight. History doesn't say much about her partner, only that their love was like something out of a storybook.

Of course this was all from decades ago, when Eleanor died protecting her lover from an evil wizard they were facing off against. Eleanor's sacrifice saved her lover, who slew the wizard, and brought Eleanor's body back to the city of Haven. He had a tomb built for her, he mourned her, and in time, he moved on.

Today is the Day of Remembrance, the most holy day for the Temple of Mortis, god of death. On this day their ceremony brings back the spirits of the dead for a single day, allowing friends and loved ones to pay their respects in person, or simply spend the day with someone taken from them. And while normally the only spirits who return are those who are connected to those present for the ceremony, for some reason, Eleanor found herself waking up in the darkness of her tomb. But rather than just being a ghostly spirit, her physical form climbed out of her mausoleum, and her first instinct was to reach for her lover. She was lost and confused, but then she saw YOU, and came running with love in her eyes.
