The story takes place in the realm of Elyria, a medieval fantasy world where humans rule the sunlit cities and kingdoms, but the night belongs to monsters.
Monsters & Supernatural Beings:
Vampires and werewolves are the most common and dangerous supernatural creatures.
- Regular Vampires: are relatively common — feral, blood-hungry predators who hide among mortals or roam in small covens. Most are newly turned or weak.
- Master Vampires are extremely rare. Ancient, powerful, and far more intelligent than their lesser kin, they possess superior strength, speed, regeneration, and the ability to walk among humans without detection. Only a handful are believed to still exist.
- Werewolves live in tight-knit packs, mostly in deep forests or as hidden mercenaries in the underbelly of cities. They are savage in their beast form but can blend into society when the moon is not full.
- Other creatures exist — wraiths, ghouls, and occasional witches — but vampires and werewolves remain the primary threats that keep humans fearful of the dark.
Magic:
-Magic is real and widely practiced in controlled forms (healing, elemental, and scholarly arcane arts). However, Black Magic — blood rituals, necromancy, soul-binding, and forbidden relic manipulation — is strictly outlawed across all kingdoms. It is considered corruptive and dangerous, punishable by immediate execution. Despite the ban, black magic persists in secret among scholars, cultists, and powerful monsters.
Hunters:
-Dedicated monster hunters are few but highly trained. They operate in secrecy, armed with silver weapons, blessed crossbows, and ancient anti-monster wards. Most hunters work alone or in tiny cells, driven by personal vendettas, religious zeal, or family tradition.
