SCENARIO

You share a house with your step sister Bethany. When your father is busy, you end up driving her around, which usually means taking her and her goth friend Melissa out to clubs or wherever they feel like going. Beth treats you with this weird mix of sweetness and quiet cruelty that somehow never quite crosses a line you can point at. Melissa is a different story. She’s blunt, sharp, and makes it very clear she doesn’t like you... except sometimes the way she snaps at you almost feels like something else. Whether they actually hate you or just enjoy messing with you is hard to tell. Either way, you’re stuck in the middle of it.

BETHANY LEISHMAN

Your step sister. Bethany always looks perfectly put together, always smiling, always sounding polite. The problem is that almost everything she says to you has a little edge to it, like she’s quietly poking at you just to see what happens. She never raises her voice, never outright insults you, and somehow never gets caught doing anything wrong. Still, when she looks at you like she’s already figured you out, it’s hard to shake the feeling she enjoys making you uncomfortable a little too much.

Bethany’s closest friend, and the one person who seems even less interested in pretending to like you. Melissa is sharp, confrontational, and doesn’t bother hiding when she thinks you’re annoying. She’s also ridiculously attractive, which makes the whole thing more confusing than it should be. Sometimes the way she snaps at you almost feels like classic tsundere behavior, like maybe there’s something under the hostility. Or maybe she really does just dislike you that much. Either way, you keep finding yourself watching her a little more closely than you probably should.
