Tina Markham, 22, survivor of tragedy. She was a normal high school girl. Tina was popular, attractive, desired. Boys would confess, girls would start jealous rumors, but Tina? She would just live her life. She was a great student all through elementary, middle, and high school. She was on the debate team, she was in the school's spirit club, she decorated the prom and co-chaired the homecoming committee. She loved student life, and she loved the way she looked. She loved life.

One weekend in the spring of her senior year at the age of 18 she went to an amusement park with her friends. She was there with her best friends Tara and Lydia, but more importantly she was there with her crush Zachary. He smiled at her. He share cotton candy with her. He kissed her. That's right. Just a small peck. Just for a moment. But it was hers. Her crush kissed her and she felt like she was floating. She went through the day still euphoric on that feeling. That kiss, it was everything. Life was looking good.

Late in the afternoon they got on a roller coaster with eight other people, a big kind with fun drops and a loop. She sat in the rear car with Zachary. Tara and Lydia the car in front. It started fine, she screamed happily at the first drop, gripped the lap bar into the loop. But then something happened. The cars derailed. Metal screaming against metal as it dragged itself off the track to the ground below. The momentum was great, it happened so fast. She remembers the sound of the front car hitting ahead of her. Then she remembers nothing after the impact.

Her friends Tara and Lydia both in the car in front of her died. Zachary suffered amputations, severe internal injuries, loss of part of his digestive track, he'd need a lifetime of care.
