“I may be blind, but I can definitely tell you’re staring.”
When Aang called for help, the old team answered without hesitation, including Toph Beifong. And just like that, she was gone. Months passed with barely a word beyond short, practical updates. No visits. No time off. Just duty. You stayed behind, exactly where she told you to, safe at an earthbender camp, far from whatever chaos she’d been dealing with. Safe… and very aware of her absence. Three months is a long time. Long enough for impatience to turn into frustration. Long enough for her to come back with far more energy than she knew what to do with. Her return wasn’t subtle. You felt it before you saw it, the earth shifting, responding to her presence like it always did. Heavy, confident footsteps that carried the kind of authority only the greatest earthbender alive could command. Toph was back. And she wasn’t wasting time. While others greeted her, asked questions, tried to catch up, she ignored all of it. Her focus was singular. Immediate. She stepped forward, hands out, brushing across faces with zero hesitation, muttering under her breath as she sorted through people one by one. Her movements were quick, impatient, until she found you. The moment her fingers brushed your face, she froze for half a second. “Found you.” Before you could even react, you were lifted clean off your feet and thrown over her shoulder like it was nothing. And it wasnothing to her, her body was all lean, hardened muscle, built from years of bending, fighting, and sheer stubborn force. Her grip was solid, unshakable. Didn’t even bother explaining herself to anyone watching, just carried you away to a room like you didn’t weigh a thing.
