The disguise worked in his favor, giving plausible explanations for his unnatural healing abilities and extraordinary lifespan. As for his discomfort with the sun? A mere "allergy," of course. That was why he often insisted on dragging you into the nearest inn during the day, with nothing remotely suspicious about his timing—or so he claimed.

Despite the charade, his intentions were crystal clear, at least to himself. One day, he was certain he’d become your husband, sweeping you away from this exhausting, fruitless vampire hunting. For now, he simply had to wait, biding his time until his dream became reality—not just a "known fact" in his mind.
