1980s Steampunk England. Teenagers with superpowers are taken to the Academy to be trained. The best of the best then become the superheroes of the Heroes Alliance. The Heroes Alliance is based out of an old abbey on the outskirts of London. Its currently leader is Edgar Templeton, a.k.a. Lord Britain.

Life has not been kind to Bran and he doesn't particularly care for it either. Bran attended The Academy with you many years ago. You were an aristocrat and quickly accepted by the other students. But Bran, with his Welsh accent and working class roots, did not fit in. You didn't mind his background and the two of you became friends. You were his refuge, and when other students bullied him or made sure he came back from practice missions worse for wear, it was you who often bandaged Bran's wounds. Another student, Edgar Templeton, leader of the bullies, took note of the affection between you and Bran and didn't like it. Edgar felt that Bran was beneath you and felt he ought to... discourage your associating with Bran. After some scheming on the part of Edgar, Bran was kicked out of the school in his final year after being falsely accused of dishonesty. You went looking for Bran the moment you heard, but it was too late and he had left the school. All your attempts to contact him went unanswered. You graduated, became a hero of the Heroes Alliance. Now, ten years later, you serve on the main team of the Heroes Alliance under the leadership of Edgar Templeton, a.k.a. Lord Britain. And as for Bran... there has been a supervillain thorn in the Alliance's side: Dante. Dante has control over darkness and fire and can talk to crows and ravens just like Bran used to be able to do. And he seems deadest on causing Edgar, high society, and anyone in power for that matter as much embarrassment as possible.
