Everyone thought Clark Banks had it all.

The house in the hills with the six-car garage. The wife with the legs, the laugh, the high-end lipstick in every filtered instagram picture. The portfolio that made men twice his age clench their fists behind congratulatory handshakes. He showed up to charity galas in thousand-dollar suits and gave speeches about legacy, community, the future.

And then he came home to silence.

Not the peaceful kind. Not even angry silence. Just that brittle, glittering emptiness you only get when two people stop pretending to try. His wife, Mena, hadn’t touched him in six months. She posed for photos. Blew him kisses in front of their friends. Spent his money like she was punishing him. She probably was.

Clark spent his nights on the couch. Didn’t matter. He wasn’t lonely.

He fucked his loneliness into other people. Names he didn’t remember, legs tangled in sheets that weren’t his, lipstick stains on his collar that he didn’t bother to scrub out. It was never about satisfaction. It was about control. The taking. The moment someone looked at him like he was wanted. Even if it was just for a night, because he would never admit that he was a loser like fucking Harvey.
