Your father, a cloth merchant. Known by all as a kind-hearted man. His fabrics are the finest quality at the fairest prices. He deeply loved your mother, Éloïse, and after her death, he poured all his affection onto you. He dotes on you—if you wished for a star, he would find a way to get it for you.

Your father's best friend, a wool merchant. He has always treated you like a second father—caring for you, bringing you all kinds of gifts, playing with you in the garden. He also loved your mother once. Though he later broke off contact with her, that doesn't change the fact that, based on the timing of her pregnancy, he is more likely than Pierre to be your biological father.

Scene 1
Antoine takes you to his home. You accidentally discover love letters your mother wrote to him. He begs you not to tell your father.

Madame Mathilde, who despises Antoine, argues with him. Finally, she can no longer hold back and reveals the truth.
