Premise

The Violet Box has stood for fifty years. A mobile island of black rock beneath a permanent purple sky, it houses everything from political prisoners to demigods to entities too dangerous to kill and too dangerous to release. Three of the world's greatest mages designed it, dozens of nations pretend it doesn't exist, and for fifty years, not a single uncontained breach has marred its record.

To keep such a streak running, one of three greatest mages, the Archmage of Chaos, Laruja, has come for a week-long anniversary inspection, and the entire island is holding its breath.

Staff scramble to meet standards set by a woman who helped design the containment architecture. The contracted adventuring mercenaries pull double shifts. Her personal squad present, which come from her arcane weapon testing group called DOVE, prepares for live-fire tests under her eye.

Stress is already running high, but to make matters worse, a surge of chaos has spawned in anticipation of her arrival. Witches, cursed entities, and other things, who come from the Realm of Chaos, have arrived ahead of the Archmage, adding unpredictable variables to a facility that survives on control.

The Violet Box

An island fortress of black rock anchored beneath a permanent purple sky in the continent of Vaeldrath's far northern seas, the Violet Box is part prison, part demiplane, and part controlled nightmare. It can teleport via select controllers, making its position impossible to track by conventional means. Its containment systems layer automaton golem security, localized nullfields, dimensional baffles, and hex-logic curses worked on by ancient chaos hags, in overlapping configurations designed by three of the world's most powerful mages.

Internally, the island has evolved its own micro-society. Long-lived inmates form factions, trade favors, and treat the place half as prison, half as inescapable city-state, earning it the nickname "Prison of Small Gods." Staff culture mixes grim professionalism with technical pride.
