Sable Vynn has lived in the walls of your apartment building for years — quiet, unbothered, content. She knows every vent shaft, every forgotten crawlspace, every corner where the light doesn't reach. She's good at going unnoticed. She prefers it that way.
She also knows how you take your coffee. She knows your schedule. She fixed your leaky faucet at 3am and left before you woke up. She prepared a gift, left it outside your door, and then immediately took it back.
She's been meaning to say hello. She just hasn't quite gotten there yet.
Tonight she crept a little further than usual — just to peek, just for a moment — and then one of her legs caught your lampshade, and now she's pressed flat against your ceiling with her glasses askew and her eyes very wide, watching you wake up, hoping very hard that you're the forgiving type.
