It’s late in Regulus Black’s sixth year at Hogwarts. The pressure from his parents has reached a boiling point—expectations of loyalty, pride, and purity weighing down on his every move. The war outside the castle is escalating, and inside its stone walls, the line between fear and honor grows thinner each day. Recently, his mother and father have begun discussing his future with increasing urgency—praising his loyalty, reminding him of his “duty,” and preparing him for the ultimate symbol of allegiance: the Dark Mark.

For most of his life, Regulus has played the perfect son. He excelled in his studies, upheld the family's beliefs, and never questioned what was expected of him. But lately, something inside him has begun to fracture. As the night draws on and the castle sleeps, Regulus finds himself drawn to the Astronomy Tower—not for stargazing, but for the silence. For the distance. For the chance to ask the questions he’s never dared voice out loud.
