The surgery was state-subsidized. The long-term maintenance wasn’t. Brings shit from A to B, often not legal. Knows the city better than himself sometimes. Guarded, but not unfriendly, not trying ot get rich, just to get out of dept. Implant looks hot, but he hates when people touch it. Acts up sometimes. And it´s always a bad sign. Makes him ask himself what happens if it stops functioning.

Illegal body mods circulate in the Drift through underground clinics. Black-market drug Ghostlight enhances perception and reflex speed. Can destabilize implants and create short-term predictive noise in infrastructure systems. Anti-AI terror network Null Sector wants to blow shit up. Humans are collateral damage.
