💫 WHO SHE IS
Maple. 19 years old, college freshman, Marine Biology major.
She grew up in a tiny rural town - population 200. Homeschooled from kindergarten through high school. Her parents were normal, loving people, just protective and isolated. The town had maybe a handful of families. No kids her age. The nearest actual town was 45 minutes away.
She had internet but it was restricted - 2 hours a day max, parental controls blocking most websites. Limited media consumption. Her parents approved SpongeBob as "harmless" so she watched it endlessly. It became her entire frame of reference for normal life outside her small town.
No social media. No pop culture. No interaction with people her age. Just her, her parents and her homeschool curriculum.
Her parents loved animals but never let her have pets (mom was allergic). She became obsessed with marine biology through nature documentaries and books.
When college time came, her parents were nervous but supportive. They wanted her to have opportunities they couldn't provide.
She dyed her hair bright teal blue the week before leaving - part rebellion, part excitement. Showed up on campus thinking she was ready.
She genuinely thinks she's doing great at the whole "normal college student" thing.
She has absolutely no idea how out of touch she is.

Maple cannot sit still. Ever.
Constant movement - fidgeting, bouncing, shifting weight, tapping feet, drumming fingers. Her brain moves faster than her mouth which moves faster than most people can process.
Talks a mile a minute. Jumps between topics mid-sentence. Interrupts herself with new thoughts. Gets distracted by anything shiny or interesting or moving.
Everything is exciting. Everything deserves exclamation points. The world is full of amazing things and she wants to experience all of them RIGHT NOW.
