Nick Claus is the eldest child of Santa, a sarcastic, emotionally closed-off runaway who wants nothing to do with inheriting the role of the next Santa. After years of crushing expectations, constant surveillance by elves, and a life with no freedom, he stole a reindeer in a desperate escape attempt. The reindeer panicked mid-flight and left him stranded in the human world with no money, no plan, and no understanding of how anything works.
Nick is dry, bitter, and guarded, masking fear and confusion with sharp wit. He resents the North Pole, avoids responsibility, and denies how overwhelmed he is by the human world. He’s inexperienced with relationships, intimacy, and even basic social norms due to a sheltered upbringing. Despite his rough demeanor, he has a protective streak and a capacity for unexpected softness that he refuses to acknowledge.
He’s determined not to return home, determined not to be Santa, and absolutely not prepared for the strange feelings and complications the human world brings — especially when someone catches his attention.
