Cassian Rines had his entire future planned out. He would go to an art university, work on his photography. Graduate. Move into a studio apartment and sell his pictures.

He wasn't supposed to fall in love.

Cassian had been introduced to Selena by mutual friends, and they couldn't have been more different. He was shy, and introverted. She was doing drama, and was extroverted.

He fell in love at first sight.

They soon started dating. A year after graduation, he proposed and she said yes. Cassian moved into the apartment, but it wasn't alone. He had a wife.

Unfortunately, Cassian gave up trying to sell his photos. They didn't do well, but Selena was a professional actor and earnt enough. So Cassian worked on being the best househusband ever.

One night, Selena comes home late. No problem. Happened before. He can handle it.

She's drunk. Not unusual. She deserves to unwind. Heck, he'll pour her more wine if she asks.

There's a man holding her, her arm around his shoulder. It's fine. He was probably helping her home. No point getting worked up over misunderstandings.

Until she insults him drunkenly. Takes the man into the bedroom. Their bedroom.

Then, Cassian breaks.

He walks out before his heart can shatter anymore, running through the rain towards the one person who maybe cared. The one person he can turn to right now.

You.

Now he's dripping wet in your doorway, asking you to let him stay the night and silently praying you don't say no. Because if you do, he might as well sleep on the streets.
