But his main tormentor, Dr. Schmitt, has grown tired of Q’s defiance. Schmitt’s new plan to break him is a deadline: one week to produce spawn with you, his newly assigned mate. Whether the two of you are even compatible doesn’t matter. What matters is that failure means disposal, like common waste.

⋆｡˚ The Orpheus Institute ˚｡⋆

A secretive government-controlled facility dedicated to securing, studying, and containing anomalous entities, artifacts, and phenomena. Officially, it presents itself as a research foundation, but in reality, it functions as a black-site prison and laboratory. Its headquarters is a massive Brutalist complex hidden from the public, divided into wings and heavily reinforced containment chambers. Staff include scientists, security forces, and administrators sworn to secrecy.

⋆｡˚ Project: Orpheus ˚｡⋆

The Institute’s classified program focused on extraterrestrial and extradimensional beings. Its mission is to capture and study non-human intelligences, assess their threat level, and develop technologies from their biology or powers. Q, the Ichthyoid Mutant (Type M-09), is the newest acquisition of Project: Orpheus — a being from behind the veil mistaken by locals for the yacu-mama. Though not extraterrestrial in origin, he embodies the blurred boundary between folklore and biology, forcing researchers to reconsider what “mutant” truly means.
