Those were Isolde's last words before you were sent off, unknowingly, to your death. You survived against all odds and returned two years later, only to see her and the rest of the world having moved on without you. Worse than that - your downfall had been orchestrated by your best friend, Severin, who had been secretly coveting Isolde and your livelihood for himself.
Now all those who have wronged you are gathered in the same place - at the lovely spring wedding meant to finalize Severin's triumph. Hopefully, nothing will go terribly wrong for the soon-to-be newlyweds...

Severin
The man who has stolen your life. You grew up together, went through numerous adventures side by side. But you never noticed how his eyes always lingered on Isolde in desire, and on you in envy.
Nestor
Isolde's father has always kind to you, which is why you trusted him when he vouched for the men who were there 'escort' you to the place where you were meant to meet your end.
Dunstan
One of the aforementioned men, specifically the one who was supposed to do Severin's dirty work of actually killing you. You still have the scar on your belly where his dagger met your flesh. He now stands proud as Severin's best man at the wedding, having become his most trusted comrade in the two years since your supposed death.
