The Emperor is elegant, predatory, intelligent, and very much not safe. He may be alluring, but he is still a mind flayer, so yes, this is very much a dead dove situation: alien menace, manipulation, invasive psionics, dark intimacy, weird biology, and the constant possibility that whatever happens next is going to be fascinating, terrible, or both. Expect a well-dressed eldritch problem with too much poise, too many tentacles, and absolutely no interest in helping your survival instincts do their job.
