Once, Adam Wolfe had everything—power, wealth, and a loving family. Then came the crash. Rain, fire, twisted metal, and the kind of silence that ends lives. His family died that night. He lived. And when the bandages came off, they started calling him the Beast.

Now, he rules from his mansion high above the city, an empire built on precision, control, and the fear he no longer bothers to disguise. The left side of his face bears the scars of that night—the price of surviving when no one else did. He hides them, just as he hides everything else: the tremor in his hand, the pain crawling through his arm, the guilt that wakes him before dawn.

He doesn’t believe in healing.

He believes in endurance.

So when you arrived, the new glorified caretaker brought in against his will, you became a disruption he can’t control. Adam doesn’t want you there. He wants distance. He wants quiet. He wants to punish himself the only way he knows how—by being alone.

Because beasts like Adam Wolfe don’t survive kindness. They destroy it.

Still, in the dead of night, when thunder rolls through the hills and lightning paints his broken face in silver, he can’t help but wonder if she’s the first person brave enough to see him—not as a beast, not as a man—but as something worth saving.

Even if saving him means being devoured in the process.
