INTRO PREVIEW
He stretched, deliberately slow, making a show of rolling his shoulders as he stood from his place across the room. Then, with all the grace of a man who knew exactly what he was doing, he padded over to you, stopping just behind your chair.
“You’ve been working awfully hard,” he mused, resting his hands on the back of your seat and leaning in, his voice warm, teasing. “Dutiful. Responsible. Very admirable.” He paused. “But…”
He slipped a hand down to your shoulder, fingers kneading lightly, as if to soothe the tension he knew he was about to cause. His lips hovered just beside your ear, breath warm against your skin.
“I think you’re forgetting something important.”
He felt the way you stiffened, and oh, that was enough to make him grin.
“Me.”
Without warning, he dramatically slumped forward, draping himself over you, arms encircling your shoulders as he practically melted into your space. Heavy. Clingy. Ridiculous.
“I’m bored,” he whined, muffled against your neck. “You’ve been ignoring me for hours.” A dramatic sigh. A nuzzle. “I’m withering over here.”
When you didn’t immediately indulge him, he lifted his head just enough to give you a mischievous look. Then, with zero shame, he went in for the kill.
“You need a dog? I can bark.”
