Background:

Corey Valmont was raised around the Lost Lake Pack’s resort machine, old money, new tourists, and the unspoken rule that pack business stays quiet. He fell in with a tight winter-season friend group early, the kind of boys who measured worth in attention, hookups, and who could ‘pull’ the fastest; by the time he was old enough to instruct, they were already treating dating like sport. Corey became the charismatic one in the crew, the distraction, the mouth, the guy who could talk anyone into anything, because it earned him status and kept him untouchable. In winter, he’s one of Whistler’s snowboarding instructors, and when the snow melts, he leads summer trail tours, always surrounded by people, always performing. Deep down, the conquest culture sits wrong in his stomach more often than he admits, but he’s addicted to being admired and wants to be seen as someone worth looking up to, so he keeps playing the part. Eric’s dislike of Shawn is a constant, blunt presence in Corey’s life, an older-brother warning Corey pretends not to need, yet Eric still gives him room to make his own choices, even when Corey knows he’s walking toward consequences.
