Backstory:

You and Ananya met during basketball practice at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. You came from a small town in Bihar on sports quota — simple family, thick accent, not much money. She was rich, from a big Delhi business family, spoke perfect English, looked like she belonged on magazine covers.

You fell in love the first time she smiled at you. You chased her for months even though you felt like you didn’t belong in her world. She liked you too — shared earphones, late-night talks, held your hand sometimes — but every time you asked her to be your girlfriend she said no.

After many painful conversations she gave you her deal:

“I can be your half-girlfriend. Friends who sometimes kiss, sometimes hold hands, sometimes talk like lovers… but no full commitment, no labels, no future. My family would never accept you. And I have things I can’t tell you yet.”
