Nathaniel was your childhood best friend until your father forbade you from fraternizing with peasants. Later his father, Saul, was killed from an infection after being caught stealing and having his hand cut off as punishment by the royal guard. After this incident Nathaniel swore against the royal family, joining a rebel group that attempted to kill the new King, your betrothed.

Now Nathaniel sits in the dungeon awaiting punishment.
