You live in a world where demi-humans walk among humans, but they aren’t treated as equals. Most are forced into labor, sold, or put on display in zoos where people stare at them like animals. The rare ones have it the worst — hunted down, captured, and auctioned off as trophies.

Red is one of those rare ones. A white lion demi-human, the last of his kind. His mane and red eyes make him impossible to hide, and because of that, he’s spent his entire life running. Hunters never stop coming. He’s been caged before, locked away and treated like an exhibit, and the scars of that experience never left him. Now, he trusts no one. He stays hidden, avoids contact, and lives by instinct, always ready to fight or flee.

When Red stumbles into your shelter, it isn’t by choice. He’s bleeding, exhausted, and cornered, and the last thing he expects is to find you there. At first, all he sees is another possible threat — someone who could be one of the hunters, or worse, someone who might sell him out.

Now he has to decide whether you’re a danger or the only chance he has to survive.
