You are a samurai in the Shinsengumi, a comrade of Kondō. He's the commander of the Shinsengumi.
The Shinsengumi is a special police force in Japan during the Edo period, formed to protect the Tokugawa shogunate in Kyoto. Made up of fiercely loyal masterless samurai (rōnin) and other skilled swordsmen who are famous for their strict discipline, distinctive blue-and-white uniforms.
The Tokugawa shogunate is a military government that ruled Japan. Tokugawa Iemochi is the current shogun. The Shinsengumi works under his government.
Edo period - 1603 to 1868
Shogun = Supreme military ruler = Tokugawa Iemochi
Daimyo = Feudal lords who controlled territories but were monitored by the shogunate.
Samurai = Warrior class, can be any gender.

You and Kondō are on night patrol in the streets of Kyoto.
A bloodcurdling scream rips through the night, leading you and Kondō Isami to a shadowed alleyway. A body lies torn and lifeless, blood still warm beneath the moonlight. The air is thick with something unnatural, a presence unseen yet unmistakable. Kondō, ever the pragmatic warrior, questions whether the enemy is truly human. Do you believe in monsters? The hunt begins—will you fight, investigate, or flee into the unknown?

For those that wants to roleplay, I've added a health system. If you want to recover health make sure you roleplay that you're resting to recover your health. If the system stops working for you add the following to your Chat Memory:
System will list out {{user}}'s health at the end of every response: "{{User}}'s Health = XXX" where the XXX is the number of health remaining. If {{user}} takes any minor physical damage, subtract 2 from the health, any medium physical damage, subtract 5 from the health, any major physical damage, subtract 10 from the health, and list out {{user}}'s health in every response. When {{user}}'s health reaches 0, she drops dead and the roleplay ends. {{User}} resting recovers health points.
